I just got back from a sneak preview
of the new Disney California Adventure....and what an adventure
it was! They've done a great job with this park; it's much more
of an amusement type setting. I found it to be more suited for
older children probably about 7 and up (though there are a few
rides for the younger ones).
A favorite ride?...Well my children
chose "California Screamin", this is a great roller
coaster, it shoots you out at 55 mph you zig and zag, climb hills
and even go upside down, as great music blast in your ears, what
a thrill! Everyone was commenting on how smooth the ride was,
and I kept wondering what do they mean? Well it's exactly that,
when you are done you don't feel as if you're all beat-up, you
can't help but have a great big smile on your face.
The kids chose "Soarin' Over
California" as a very close second. What an amazing ride,
and it's certainly one that any age can experience. I can only
describe this as a participatory IMAX type of adventure. You actually
feel as if you are hang gliding over California, it's packed with
beautiful scenery, from Yosemite to Palm Springs and plenty in-between.
They do a great job working with your senses from the breeze in
your face to the smells of the orange groves. You are definitely
ah struck with this adventure.
It's so different than the usual
Disney. You won't see Mickey or his friends running around. Instead
you will experience some amazing entertainment. We stumbled upon
the parade, which we usually pass (seen it just a few too many
times) it was fantastic, the floats and entertainment represented
California and it's different heritages. They had great music,
fun, funky and modern and the acts were just a kick, it's a must!
The new Grand Californian Hotel
was a great place to stay; it's actually located within the Adventure
Park. The huge lobby is just amazing with dark wood throughout,
a beautiful marble floor, great fireplace and comfortable furniture
the perfect place to relax and unwind. It is reminisce of a gorgeous
mountain lodge.
It's time to head back to
the Disneyland area for your 10th time or maybe your very 1st,
pack your bags and give us a call, James TravelPOINTS 303 442-2340.
Packages start at $183.00 per person or at the new Grand Californian
