If your heading to Las Vegas and the neon signs and action of the Strip is just too much, we've found your oasis.  The Regent Las Vegas 11 miles northwest of the Strip is situated on 54 acres in the affluent master-planned Summerlin community.  Built at a cost of over $300 million, the resort features 11 acres of beautiful gardens and pools.  Just walking into the lobby is a pleasant surprise, unlike many Las Vegas hotels, it's quiet comfortable and elegant.  It's not the noise of a thousand jackpot machines.  The façade is that more of the southwest region that blends in well with the views of Red Rock Canyon.  This is a place to kick back relax and enjoy a different side of Las Vegas.

The Regent features two luxurious towers with a total of 541 rooms.  Each guest rooms offer interior views of the gardens, panoramic views of the Canyon or the glittering lights of Las Vegas to the east, and many border the golf courses.  And speaking of golf courses, they've got preferred tee times at 10 area golf courses including the Tournament Players Club at The Canyons.  Complimentary shuttles are provided from the resort to Angel Park Golf Club, Las Vegas Pauite Golf Resort, Badlands Golf Club, Painted Desert Golf Club and three Del Webb Sun City courses.  This is truly a golfer's paradise.

If true relaxation is what you came for they offer a 40,000-square-foot luxury health spa.  I opted for a facial and full body massage they were wonderful.  The work out area included state of the art equipment along with a full-time trainer on hand.

The Regent offers a eclectic collection of food and beverage outlets including the recently opened Parian restaurant serving new American cuisine; Ceres, seafood restaurant with beautiful views; Nevada Nick's original steakhouse; Hamada of Japan; Chez Napolean; Spiedini Ristorante; Gustav Mauler's Cigar Bar, and J.C Wooloughan, an authentic Irish pub built in Dublin and transported to the hotel.
